Choosing the Right Treatment for Your Shoulder
Treatment Starts With Assessment
Your symptoms, examination and relevant imaging help guide the treatment plan. We discuss your daily activities, work, sport and previous treatment.
Non-Operative Options
Depending on the diagnosis, treatment may include activity modification, medication, physiotherapy or selected injections. Not every shoulder problem requires surgery.
Where Does Arthroscopy Fit?
Shoulder arthroscopy uses a small camera and instruments through small incisions. It may be considered for selected rotator cuff tears, recurrent instability and other conditions when surgery is appropriate.
Planning Your Recovery
Recovery depends on the condition and treatment. After surgery, a sling and restrictions on movement or lifting may be needed. Rehabilitation progresses according to the procedure and your recovery, with physiotherapy arranged separately where required.
Prepare for Your Consultation
Bring previous scans, reports and treatment details, and tell us which movements or activities are most difficult.
